Meeting Information

​The Task Force shall meet once a month following the appointment of the members and shall continue to meet once a month for the duration of the 102nd General Assembly.

Function

The task force is charged with the task of investigating the decline in foster youth living successful lives after transitioning out of care and with developing recommendations for DCFS on how to improve the transition for people leaving foster care, as well as a time frame for DCFS to implement these recommendations.

Composition

(1) The Director of DCFS or his or her designee, who shall serve as Chair of the Task Force. (2) The Chairman of the Office of the State Appellate Defender Board of Commissioners or his or her designee; (3) Two previous foster children who have transitioned out of care appointed by the Governor (4) Three members of the Illinois House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House; and; (5) Three members of the Illinois House of Representatives appointed by the House Minority Leader
