Function

The board studies existing harbor plans in district and makes recommendations to appropriate governmental agencies, including the General Assembly.

5 years from June 1 of the year in which they are appointed, except to fill vacancy, and until successor is appointed and qualified

Qualifications

Members of board must reside in district. Each appointment by Governor subject to approval by county boards, and each appointment by county boards shall be subject to approval by Governor, all appointments to be certified by Secretary of State.

Compensation

The members of the Board shall receive compensation for their services, set by the Board at an amount not to exceed $20,000 annually, except the chairperson may receive an additional $5,000 annually, if approved by Board. Paid by Board's operating funds.

7 members - 3 appointed by Governor with advice and consent of the Senate - 4 appointed by county boards from within following counties: Adams, Brown, Cass, Hancock, Henderson, Mercer, Morgan, Pike, Schuyler, Scott and Warren.
