The Board determines, defines, and implements environmental control standards applicable in Illinois. The Board adopts environmental rules and adjudicates contested cases that arise from implementing those rules, such as enforcements, permit appeals, variances, adjusted standards, landfill siting appeals, etc. See www.ipcb.state.il.us
